What Is The Proper Way To Swing A Golf Club

Saturday, November 7th, 2009

First things first: one plane or two plane golf swing ? Generally the one plane swing is viewed as easier than a classical two plane or upright swing. The one plane swing requires less timing and isn?t so dependent on the lower body (take note I didn?t say it doesn?t depend on the lower body? just not as much as the two plane swing.. you need fast hips and timing of the lower body on a two plane swing). The one plane golf swing is a pure rotary motion, with a body release as you continue to rotate left, after impact. one plane golf swing:

What is the proper way to swing a golf club? You should know first of all that a golf swing is a patently unnatural motion. It’s very hard to do correctly. It is the motion of the golf club, of the golfer, the golfer’s hand and the rest of the body. A swing is the most important part of playing golf and it also takes a lot of effort to perfect a proper golf swing, as it should not be too powerful nor should it be too weak. It is a technique like a putting stroke, sand shot, chip, punch out, etc. Golf is about getting the ball around the golf course.

A golf swing is an unnatural motion that can only be perfected through practice. Also, you are most likely going to be nervous when you first learn how to swing a golf club. It is a continuous flowing motion. Adjustments in positions, directions, sequences, and angles can be worked on individually, but eventually must be blended together to form a flowing motion. A golf swing is just as demanding as a baseball swing or a jump shot, yet many beginning golfers don’t exercise or train for their golf swing timing.

Different parts make up a golf swing. Everything from your grip to your stance, and anything with your physical body, to external factors like wind and pin placement, all make up how you approach your swing. It is a repetitive movement that places stress on the same muscles over and over again. As a result, those muscles get tired.

A golf swing is a total body movement, and any single point of weakness can not only lead to a poor result, but even to bodily injury. Even professional golfers do substantial grindings on this. Tiger Woods purportedly trained tirelessly with his swing coach Butch Harmon even after becoming a Tour master.

Professionally speaking, a golf swing is built in the same manner as a house. The plans are made and the foundation is built, followed by the structure. Professional golfers use clubs on the ground to align themselves to the target which is not the most convenient way to get properly aligned. Proper club head alignment and position relative to the ball is critical to hitting a golf ball even though alignment lines are not visible and must be imagined.

Hitting a golf ball is not a natural movement and you must acquire muscle memory. A passion for golf is needed to further and improve your golf swing. Hitting a golf ball and putting have nothing in common. They’re two different games. So if you want to get the best from your swing go to golf swing:

Improve Golf Swing: Or Die Trying

Saturday, October 24th, 2009

If you?re like most other golfers then you probably are looking for a way to increase your enjoyment of the game by performing better.

While it is tempting to blame a tough day out on the course on a lot of different factors, it ultimately comes back to you. A lack of consistency is usually the culprit for most golfers.
Your golf swing is usually where most of your consistency problems probably stem from.

The golf swing is a very unnatural motion for our body. Also, because there are so many factors involved during a golf swing it?s easy to have problems. To improve golf swing, you have to know exactly what you are doing wrong. The best way to do that is to be sure that you are making a conscious effort to double check everything and think about every motion you are going to do before you execute it.

Over the course of time, you may have built bad habits into your golf swing that have become automatic. So, if you slow down your golf swing and really concentrate on everything that you are doing, you may be able to catch what you are doing wrong. A video camera can be your best friend to see what you?re doing wrong too.

Something else that can be affecting your swing is your clubs. If your clubs aren?t sized right for you, this can cause you problems. This doesn?t give you an excuse to run out and buy brand new golf clubs and expect all your problems to magically disappear. If you have your golf swing fundamentals down but are still having trouble, then you should go to your pro shop with your club. Have them check out your clubs and your swing.

They should be able to tell you if there is some issue with your clubs.

Something else that can improve golf swing is to actually do some golf related exercises. If you strengthen the muscles involved with a golf swing, you?ll see improved results. You?ll be able to get more club head speed and hit the ball a lot further too.

Another way to improve golf swing is to just clear your mind before you take your shot. Sometimes this can be rather difficult.

However, if you are feeling stress or pressure and worrying you?re going to mess up the shot, chances are you probably will. Do some deep breathing exercises before you swing your club. Instead of thinking about how you?re going to mess the shot up envision yourself swinging and hitting the ball perfectly and envision the ball flying high, straight, and far.

A Golf Coach Is Important If You Want To Improve Your Game Or Is It?

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

Why would anybody need a golf coach for golf lessons when most of the famous golfers of old developed their game pretty much on their own? And besides, wouldn?t a golf coach take away all the fun of the game and make the whole thing too serious to call a leisure activity anymore?

These are some of the many concerns amateur golfers have whenever the idea of a golf coach is suggested to them. Genuine concerns but mostly outdated because the modern game has changed a lot and continue to change.

One of the most distinct changes witnessed in the game is the wide acceptance of golf coaches, exercises and muscle conditioning programs in a sport that has for generations been viewed as a leisure sport with no room for any sort of exercising or muscle strengthening programs.

Has your golf game been getting just a little too frustrating in recent times? Have you been suffering many more humiliating defeats than is the case ordinarily?

Then there is the increasing possibility that you are playing against people who are involved in exercise programs and have a personal golf coach who has been helping them work on improvements in their golf game.

How can you possibly compete with a golfer who has such a huge advantage over you? How can you ever hope to enjoy your game of golf the way you used to in the days when a golf coach was a strange and uncommon phrase in the game?

Probably the biggest advantage of having a golf coach is that they are able to specifically work on your weaknesses using golf specific exercise programs to strengthen the muscles that are critical for you to play a good round of golf.

A golf coach will also help you avoid some of the common but painful and disruptive injuries of the game like the golfer elbow. They will help you avoid them by getting you to warm up properly before a round of golf and do stretches that will help you tone up to tip-top condition for your game.

What?s more, is that there is no age limit in the golfers opting to get a golf coach to help them with their physicals. Even senior citizens are able to successfully implement the exercise programs into their game. In fact some have been able to get rid of nagging back injuries for good.

If you can’t afford a golf coach or do not want one, there are other ways to get training and instruction online. There are free videos and articles to help you with your training all over the net. Golf Mastery 101: The Psychology Of The Golf Swing!

Sunday, July 26th, 2009

Previous to focusing on the subject of developing self-assurance with ones golf swing I want you all to think around this concept; you cannot solely “Think” yourself a wonderful golf swing. Otherwise, we would all only think concerning pots of gold manifesting in our front rooms and we’d all be loaded. Nevertheless, the pots of gold do not get there merely by thinking around them, similarly, our golf swing does not change into that of Tiger Woods solely by thinking alone. Certainthing needs to be completed to get confident around that golf swing. So, this is the first notion that I like you to think concerning previous to I talk around building a powerful level of self-assurance in your golf swing.

When anybody is increasing a new self-confident golf swing, at this point needs to be an element of action that is taken to change and update the golf swing appropriately and efficiently. Some differentthings needs to be done sufficient times for the unconscious mind to learn it.

The early success philosophers and gurus like Stephen Covey and Napoleon Hill recognised that in order for a new behaviour to happen unconsciously and routinely, it needs to be completed for 21 successive days. So then the new behaviour is studyed thoroughly by the unconscious mind and your faith in your golf swing can start to occur on auto-pilot. So, any conviction with your golf swing needs certain conscious effort and repeated application for your new confident golf swing to take place unconsciously.

Now, when you have a new way of doing things, the other, old, unwanted way of doing things doesn’t just wither away right away. It remains in the bank. If you were confined to a wheelchair, the muscles in your legs would start to experience atrophy, the same way that when specific portions of your brain are not used, they experience atrophy; this is why it is challenging for us to learn languages when we are a good deal older and school kids find it a bit easier; that section of our brain has not been used for a extended time.

The old golf swing needs considerable time to experience atrophy. Visualize that at this time and now as you read this, your unconscious mind has carved out a ive way of you swinging your golf club and this way is well defined by repitition from the past. Each time you step up to execute your golf swing, your unconscious mind carries on down that well trodden passageway that you have always gone down; your golf swing is the same. It is the only way that it knows and is the easiest route to take.

When you create an alternative, self-confident new golf swing, you are carving out a new passageway that needs to be trodden down and paved well several times, so that your unconscious knows it is there and knows that it can seize this route in specific conditions, events and situations.

So then with recurringly taking the new pathway, the old passageway can begin to overgrow and have its own atrophy. However, we all recognize how easy it is to unearth an old passageway and drift back to our old golf swing; if we permit ourselves to go back along that way, it can begin to get carved out again.

These ideas can develop the basis of any programme of change. Nevertheless we are focussing on your golf swing at this time today and how to develop enhanced self-assurance with your golf swing.

When I first became involved with the world of hypnosis, NLP and personal expansion, I read a fantastic book by a man called Dr Maxwell Maltz entitled “Psycho-cybernetics” that shaped the basis of lots of modern ideas as to how we understand personalities. Dr Maltz was a plastic surgeon and he found that if he altered the way people looked, often it changed their persona too. When people looked different, they also felt different. Often people that had lacked self-assurance, were changeed into more self-confident, outgoing people who lived life with more zest.

What puzzled Dr Maltz is that some of the clients did not appear to get happier. some, whose appearance had changed a lot, didn’t seem to alter their feelings. They still felt lacking in conviction.

So what Dr Maltz concluded was that cosmetic surgical procedure would not benefit the client if they had a weak image of themselves. His solution was to create a visualisation practice that helped them to modify their inner self-image. He got wonderful results. So when the clients changed the way they felt about themselves, they became happier and more content and their faith grew. You know that when you feel great concerning your golf swing, your golf swing is improved and you are more adept with your golf swing. The technique is easy, here it is;

Firstly, envision your golf swing as you would ideally like your golf swing to be. Think about how you would look if you were as happy and self-confident as you would likeed to be with your golf swing. How do you walk? What do you wear? What expressions are on your face? How do you move? Take all the time needed for this, to really get an idea of how you are when you are confident with your golf swing.

Secondly, when you know what you will look like, make a film clip in your mind, in your imagination of yourself being happy, confident and deeply self-assured with your golf swing.

Thirdly, visualize yourself stepping into that film, visualize seeing through those eyes, hearing through those ears, and feel those self-confident feelings, think to yourself; how do I know the self-confident feelings? Where in my body are they? Enjoy feeling and being precisely how you like to be.

Lastly for this exercise, visualize that when you get up tomorrow you wake up as that ideal you, feeling this good and visualize your golf swing swing going as you want it to and be confident regarding your golf swing.

Remember what I said at the beginning, you must use this method over and over in order to get the most from it and really make yourself a self-confident golf swing. Look out for section two of this article of getting confident with your golf swing.
